In the meantime, the Human Rights Committee of south Korea published a "2011 working plan" which envisages the holding of an international seminar, false propaganda, etc., to tarnish the image of the DPRK under the pretext of improving the "human rights situation in the north" and requested a huge budget to finance them.

Rodong Sinmun Wednesday observes in a bylined commentary in this regard:

The above-said unsavory confrontation moves going against the trend of the times are the ones aimed at keeping the north-south dialogue from making any progress and straining the situation.

It is intolerable to provoke the other party at a time when arrangements for the north-south dialogue are in the making.

The south Korean side persists in its nuclear and "human rights" rackets against the DPRK, sticking to its anti-reunification "policy towards the north" and taking a passive approach towards dialogue.

All this makes the south Korean side's will to mend the relations with the DPRK skeptical.

The south Korean authorities' diplomacy to bring up the above-said issue for discussion at the UNSC in collusion with foreign forces would get them nowhere. On the contrary, this would only end up obstructing the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and escalating the prevailing confrontation.

Groundless accusations against compatriots under the pretext of "human rights issue" and the like are little short of chilling the atmosphere of dialogue.

The south Korean authorities would be well advised to stop standing in the way of dialogue over "the human rights issue in the north," a fiction. They had better halt the ridiculous anti-DPRK burlesque and sincerely approach the dialogue.
