North-South Dialogue Called for

Pyongyang, February 10 (KCNA) -- The General Association of Koreans in China called on all the Koreans in the north and the south and overseas to achieve unity and solidarity with patriotism and work for peace, reunification and prosperity. This call was made in its statement on Feb. 5.

The statement expressed support for an appeal to the entire Korean nation made by the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Reunification of Korea.

It said that dialogue and negotiations are the only way of averting a war, defusing confrontation and repairing the north-south relations.

The negotiating table has already been set for the north and the south to sit face to face and have candid exchange of what they have in mind, it said.

South Korea should not hesitate to come out for dialogue and negotiations if it is truly concerned for the destiny of the nation and the improvement of the relations, it added.

The south Korean authorities should immediately respond to the DPRK's proposal for the north-south dialogue with sincerity, away from unnecessary misgivings and prejudice, it urged.
