The festival has been held as an annual event since 1997 on the occasion of leader Kim Jong Il's birthday.

The Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia Festival Organizing Committee drafted a plan for successful festival while organizing panels and working out their plans and schedules.

The committee has successfully completed the designs for internal layout and decoration of festival hall and posters in conformity with the festival's character.

The venue of the festival is being spruced up.

The image of Kim Jong Il is put in the center of hall against the background of Mt. Paektu and a large Kimjongilia basket is depicted in the centre of the floor.

The organizing committee is helping the setting up of stands for displaying potted flowers to be presented by units and individuals.
