Kim Jong Il Receives Chinese Minister of Public Security
Pyongyang, February 14 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il on Monday received Meng Jianzhu, state councilor of the People's Republic of China and minister of Public Security, and his party on a visit to the DPRK.

Present there were Kang Sok Ju, member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the WPK and vice-premier of the Cabinet, and Liu Hongcai, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK.

The Chinese minister of Public Security courteously conveyed to Kim Jong Il kind greetings of the senior party and state officials of China including Hu Jintao, general secretary of the C.C., the Communist Party of China and president of the People's Republic of China.

Meng warmly congratulated Kim Jong Il on his birthday and wholeheartedly wished him good health, presenting the gifts prepared by himself to Kim Jong Il and Kim Jong Un, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the WPK.

Kim Jong Il thanked for this and asked Meng to convey his regards to the senior officials of the Chinese party and state including Hu Jintao. He had a cordial and friendly talk with Meng.

Meng warmly congratulated Kim Jong Il upon his reelection as general secretary of the WPK and Kim Jong Un upon his election as vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the WPK at the historic Conference of the WPK, hailing the successful solution of the issue of succession to the Korean revolution.

Witnessing the reality of the DPRK, he was deeply impressed by the signal achievements made by the Korean people under the leadership of Kim Jong Il, he said, adding that the Chinese people are rejoiced over as over their own the achievements made by the fraternal Korean people.

Meng said he was very satisfied with the fact that leading officials in the fields of armed forces and security of China and the DPRK had an in-depth discussion of a series of important issues including the work to defend and glorify socialism and reached a full consensus of views.

Kim Jong Il highly appreciated the satisfactory success made by the Chinese Minister of Public Security in his visit to the DPRK and expressed expectation that the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the fields of armed forces and security of the two parties and two countries would grow stronger day by day.

After receiving Meng and his party, Kim Jong Il gave a dinner for the guests.

Present there on invitation were Meng and his party, the Chinese ambassador to the DPRK and staff members of his embassy.

Present there were Ri Yong Ho, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the WPK, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the WPK and chief of the General Staff of the Korean People's Army, Kim Jong Un, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the WPK, Kang Sok Ju, member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the WPK and vice-premier of the Cabinet, Ju Sang Song, member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the WPK, member of the National Defence Commission and minister of People's Security, Jang Song Thaek, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the WPK and vice-chairman of the NDC, Kim Yong Il, alternate member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the C.C., the WPK, and officials concerned.

The dinner proceeded in a cordial atmosphere overflowing with friendship.
