Scheme for Conclusion of FTA Protested in S. Korea

Pyongyang, February 15 (KCNA) -- South Koreans from all walks of life protested the puppet authorities for finally signing agreements on the results of the additional negotiations for the conclusion of the "Free Trade Agreement" (FTA). They were reached between south Korea and the U.S. in December last year.

The Headquarters of the All People Movement for Checking the South Korea-U.S. FTA grouping civic and public organizations held a press conference outside the "government" building in Seoul on Feb. 11. It denounced the agreements as drain on resources to the U.S., violation of sovereignty of south Korea and deception.

The organization strongly urged the authorities to punish the working chief of the negotiations and immediately scrap the humiliating documents.

A member of the Democratic Labor Party said on the same day that the agreements are null and void as they were signed without the examination of major items.

The "government", not content with mocking at the people, signed the agreements devoid of examination only to meet international disgrace, he said.

The Democratic Party said that the agreements would be recorded in the history as humiliation. The party would surely check the treacherous conclusion of FTA together with other opposition parties, it added.
