Damage by Heavy Snowfall Grows in S. Korea

Pyongyang, February 17 (KCNA) -- Damage by heavy snowfall in the east coastal area of south Korea is increasing, according to KBS of south Korea.

At least 460 villages of vinyl houses collapsed and crops in the cultivated area of over 9 hectares were damaged in south Korean Kangwon Province and North Kyongsang Province as of Feb. 14.

Shoals of fish died at fish breeding farms and 27 fishing ships were sunk.

The amount of damage was reported to total to 13.4 billion won.
