The international secretary of the Communist Party of Peru "Red Motherland" praised Kim Jong Il as the distinguished leader who turned heroic Korea, which defeated U.S. and Japanese imperialisms, into a socialist power with his great Songun politics.

It is the great feat of Kim Jong Il that he armed all members of the party and the society with the monolithic idea and put the single-minded unity of the leader, the army and the people on the highest level, he noted.

Genaro Ledesma Izquieta, chairman of the People's Front of Workers, Peasants and Students of Peru, said that the might of the Songun politics pursued by Kim Jong Il has been clearly proved by the reality of socialist Korea winning victory after victory despite the U.S. imperialists and their followers' undisguised moves to stifle it. The Korean people will surely open the gate to a thriving nation as they are achieving signal successes by bringing about great innovations and leap forward under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il, the chairman noted.

A congratulatory message to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the meeting.

The meeting was followed by a performance given by Peruvian artistes.
