In this period the academy has made signal contributions to the development of the nation's medicine and the promotion of the people's health.

Its researchers and medical workers solved the scientific and technological problems arising in Koryo therapy (traditional treatment) of incurable diseases and authored scientific papers and various kinds of reference books.

More than 700 reference books including "Koryo Clinical Dictionary" and "Koryo Medicine Comprehensive Dictionary" have been released.

The academy contributed to the treatment and health recovery of citizens by scientifically applying Koryo medicines, acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, massage therapy, etc. to suit their symptoms and physical constitution while properly combining modern medicine with traditional medicine.

It also turns out dozens of kinds of reserve medicines, including Ryongsinhwan and cordial made with bezoar, popular medicines and tonics greatly helpful to the prophylactic treatment.

It has produced over 300 holders of academic degrees or titles and presented hundreds of inventions.

Meanwhile, the academy has conducted brisk scientific exchange with other countries, thus making successes in the development of the traditional Korean medicine.
