In its early February issue the Venezuelan paper Tribuna Popular carried a feature article with a photo of Kim Jong Il.

The paper in the article titled "Kim Jong Il and Ideo-theoretical Experience of the DPRK" said that he has further strengthened the Workers' Party of Korea into the party which organizes and guides all victories of the Korean people.

He formulated the Songun politics as the basic political mode of socialism, thus further strengthening the WPK to successfully accomplish the socialist cause despite whatever threat and challenge by the imperialists, it noted.

He authored celebrated works to indicate the orientation and ways for rapidly developing the country's economy, it said, adding: The remarkable successes made in various fields of the DPRK's economy are clear proof of the validity and vitality of his idea and theory on serving the people.

The February 12th issue of the Egyptian paper Al-Misaiya said in an article titled "Leader Kim Jong Il and His Birthday": February 16, the greatest holiday for the Korean people, has turned to a day when all of them enjoy great happiness and joy under the blessing of their leader rather than a day when he enjoys the blessing of all people.

The February-March issue of the British paper Proletarian carried an article supporting the DPRK's stand for peace.
