Attending the service were Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, Kim Yang Gon, secretary of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, Kang Nung Su, vice-premier, Kim Yong Dae, chairman of the C.C., the Korean Social Democratic Party, officials of power organs, public organizations, religious organizations, educational organs, ministries and national institutions, bereaved family members, working people in the city of Pyongyang and officials of Chongryon and Japan-residing Koreans staying in the socialist homeland.

Han was born into a poor peasant family in Kyongsan County, North Kyongsang Province. He organized the labor movement for the right to existence of Koreans in Japan from his early years.

After the country's liberation Han worked hard to rally broad strata of Koreans in Japan around President Kim Il Sung true to his letter "To One Million Koreans in Japan". He devoted his all to the patriotic work for the building of a new country.

He organized Chongryon, overseas Koreans' organization of the DPRK, and worked as its chairman for 46 years.

Yang Hyong Sop in his memorial address said: Han rendered distinguished services for the development of the overseas Koreans movement.

He shared weal and woe with the socialist homeland, considering it as mother's embrace even though he was in an alien land.

Han was a genuine son of the nation who embarked upon the path of patriotism following the President and steadfastly covered it generation after generation under the leadership of Kim Jong Il. His noble life and feats will go down in the history of the country and always remain shining along with the revolutionary cause of Juche and the patriotic cause of Chongryon making dynamic progress.
