Pyongyang, February 22 (KCNA) -- The Haeju boiled rice with assorted mixtures is a specialty to anyone visiting the area of South Hwanghae Province of Korea. This is a typical food of Korea well known from olden times. It is made of rice produced in this area and roots of broad bellflower, parsley, bracken and other edible herbs, seaweeds from the west coast, meats, etc. Boiled rice is fried with oil and then mung-bean sprouts, bracken, parsley, roots of broad bellflower, bean sprouts, sliced fried egg and crumbed laver are put on it and mixed to serve customers. This tasty and nutritious food is characterized by the mixture of bracken from Mt. Suyang and laver from the west coast. Catering centers in South Hwanghae Province and Haeju City are working hard to improve the quality of the Haeju boiled rice with assorted mixtures, favorite food of inhabitants. |
