Young Koreans Prove Successful in Mass Movement

Pyongyang, February 26 (KCNA) -- The young Koreans are bringing about innovations in the efforts to improve the standard of people's living through a brisk mass movement. Many young people of the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex formed a youth shock brigade in the first 15 days of January, greatly contributing to keeping the iron and steel production going at a high rate. Young workers of the Pukchang Thermal Power Complex also formed a shock brigade and conducted more than ten campaigns, contributing to increasing the electricity production. The members of the Kim Hyok Youth Shock Brigade at the Unryul Mine produced hundreds of tons of iron ore in a matter of 10 odd days. Nearly 100 young people of the Kim Jong Suk Pyongyang Silk Mill carried out their January's national economy plan ahead of schedule. Signal successes made in boosting production through the mass movement of young people were reported from the February 8 Vinalon Complex, the Chollima Steel Complex, the Pyongyang Thermal Power Complex, the Pyongyang Textile Mill and other industrial establishments in the field of light industry, pilot and key domains of the national economy. At least 353,900 young people in more than 170 cities and counties including Chongjin City of North Hamgyong Province, Hamhung City of South Hamgyong Province and Kujang County of North Phyongan Province conducted shock brigade activities and a do-good-thing campaign for the last one month, sending lots of compost and varieties of small farm implements to cooperative farms and their young sub-workteams and young workteams. At the construction site of Hungju Youth Power Station No. 3 young people took upon themselves difficult and toilsome work including rock tunneling and ground leveling and overfulfilled their construction plan. Shock brigade activities are making dynamic progress to wind up the construction projects ahead of schedule in North Hwanghae and North Hamgyong provinces. |
