Units in Kuriles to Be Re-equipped with Sophisticated Technical Hardware

| Moscow, February 25 (KCNA) -- The commander of the Eastern Military District of Russia at a press conference on Feb. 21 declared that those units deployed in the Kuriles would be reequipped with up-to-date technical hardware in two years to come. The Kuriles should be reliably defended as they are the territory of Russia, he said, stressing that those units in the Kuriles should be modern ones capable of carrying out their tasks. The Russian army should rapidly and confidently move with clear-cut aims, he said, adding that the induction of latest technical equipment and the modernization of infrastructure in the region are now under way. |
