Kim Jong Il's Birthday Celebrated at DPRK Missions Abroad

Pyongyang, March 1 (KCNA) -- Events took place at DPRK missions abroad from Feb. 9 to 15 to celebrate the birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il. They included receptions, book and photo exhibitions and film shows at those missions in Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Mongolia, Iran, India, Germany, UK, France, Bulgaria, Austria, Guinea, Ethiopia, Libya, Peru, Shenyang and Hong Kong of China, Nakhodka of Russia, at the DPRK permanent mission to the UN Office and international organizations in Geneva and the DPRK permanent mission at UN. Displayed in their venues were works of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, photos on their exploits and books and photos introducing the struggle of the army and the people of the DPRK. Films shown included "The Country Shining with Arms of Mt. Paektu", "Faith of Korea" and "Fireworks for a Thriving Nation". The general secretary of the Central Committee of the New Communist Party of Britain said that it was great happiness for the Korean people to have reelected Kim Jong Il as general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, providing a sure guarantee for successfully carrying forward and accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche. The general secretary of the Guinean People's Rally noted that the eye-opening successes made by the heroic Korean people in building a thriving nation would be unthinkable without his wise leadership art. The director-general of the UN Office in Geneva said: The DPRK is a country which ensured the political stability and achieved the single-minded unity in society. No force can shake the Korean people's trust in their leader. |
