Pyongyang, March 1 (KCNA) -- Industrial establishments in Korea have increased the production capability through technological updating of machines. Kim Jong Suk Pyongyang Silk Mill, Cornstarch Factory, Cosmetics Factory, Hosiery Factory and other light industry factories in Pyongyang have streamlined the production processes on a higher level. Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex and Musan Mining Complex have successfully carried on the socialist emulation for technical innovation and frequently organized exhibitions of tools and spare machine parts. Hoeryong City has become a model in modernizing factories and public catering establishments, while South Hamgyong Province has pushed ahead with updating of equipment at factories and enterprises. Factories in Changsong County have introduced up-to-date science and technology on the principle of self-reliance. According to data available, 890 workshops and 1,430 industrial establishments won the "Lathe No. 26" Model Prize and 90 workshops and more than ten factories won the twice prize. Workers of the Pyongyang Textile Machine Plant launched the movement for the prize in the 1960s. |
