China to Repair Reservoirs

| Pyongyang, March 2 (KCNA) -- The Standing Conference of the State Council of China recently adopted a plan to repair 5,400 reservoirs till the end of 2012 and 15,900 till the end of 2013. In recent years China has channeled efforts into reinforcing dangerous spots of the reservoirs in order to prevent flood damage. As a result, 161 million wu of cultivated land is free from the threat of inundation and the life of 144 million people and their properties are protected, taking the country as a whole. |
