Present there were Premier Choe Yong Rim, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea Choe Ryong Hae, Minister of Agriculture Ri Kyong Sik and officials concerned.

The meeting reviewed the successes and experience gained in the work of the union over the past years and discussed the tasks and ways for its members and other agricultural workers to fulfill their responsibility and duty in implementing the WPK's policy of agricultural revolution.

Ri Myong Gil, chairman of the Union Central Committee, made a report which was followed by speeches.

The reporter and speakers noted that a new history of large-scale land realignment and building of gravity-fed waterways was made under the energetic guidance of General Secretary Kim Jong Il. They also referred to the fact that a solid foundation for the nation's agricultural development was laid such as completion of Juche-oriented fertilizer production system and Taegyedo tideland reclamation.

They stressed the need for the union organizations to fulfill their mission and duty as an education body in the drive to attain the goal of grain production this year.

They said that the exemplary farms should set their goals higher for competition and all other farms should work hard to follow them.

An appeal to the union members and other agricultural workers across the country was adopted at the meeting.
