The method of easily treating sewage from a district populated by hundreds of people without using electricity, gains public favor.

The method has already proved effective in Songyo District, Pyongyang and Yonthan County, North Hwanghae Province.

A tank, artificial swamp and solar greenhouse are prepared and sewage from dwelling houses is drawn to a place in a nature-driven way.

Sewage is purified in the tank with anaerobe to produce methane for cooking in family and heating in solar greenhouse.

The method was developed by the City Management Research Institute under the State Academy of Sciences.
