The project is undertaken by the Environment and Development Center of the DPRK.

Director of the center Ri Kyong Sim told KCNA that the project is aimed to protect air and water environment, expand wooden areas and reuse industrial wastes in Pyongyang.

The center has rendered assistance to industrial establishments in setting up an environmental management system.

After helping the Pyongyang 326 Electric Wire Factory establish the system, the center has introduced it in other factories.
