They have schemed to purchase from the U.S. four AWACS since 2005 by spending a stupendous amount of money under the pretext of acquiring independent intelligence-gathering and spying capability.

One of them will be reportedly deployed in south Korea in July as the first batch.

Through the introduction of it they seek to establish a round-the-clock monitoring system in a bid to intensify the aerial espionage against the DPRK.
