Minju Joson Blasts Japan's Moves to Grab Tok Islets

Pyongyang, March 8 (KCNA) -- Shortly ago, former Japanese Foreign Minister Maehara at the Diet session uttered that "Tok islets have been under control by other country without a legal ground" and Chief Cabinet Secretary Edano raised a claim to the islets, blustering that "there is no other country which is in a position to establish a real domination over the islets from the historical and legal view points." Minju Joson Tuesday observes in a by-lined commentary in this regard: The Japanese reactionaries are persistently raising a claim to Tok islets, citing what they call legal ground. This is aimed to reduce the islets to a territorial dispute-torn area in a bid to internationalize the issue and, furthermore, to secure a legitimate pretext for staging a comeback to Korea. Their recent moves to grab the islets have gone beyond limit. This year the Shimane Prefectural government of Japan held an event to justify Japan's claim to Tok islets, talking about the "Takeshima Day". In another development, dozens of Japanese staged a farce of transferring their domicile of origin to the islets while insisting that the islets belong to Japan though they are part of the inviolable territory of Korea. This cannot be interpreted otherwise than a clumsy artifice to build public opinion asserting that the islets belong to Japan. The Japanese reactionaries' moves to grab Tok islets are just a prelude to a war of reinvasion against Korea. |
