Roads inside the mill were lined with trees of more than 100 species.

The mill has planted many trees in the compound every year to reduce noise pollution and ensure the workers' rest.

Leader Kim Jong Il visited the mill on July 30, Juche 98 (2009), the 63rd anniversary of the promulgation of the Law on Sex Equality, and appreciated the mill for having turned the mill into a thick woodland and greenery.

A fishpond and a health complex were built in the compound for the workers.
