Halt to US-S. Korea Military Maneuvers Demanded in Indonesia

Pyongyang, March 9 (KCNA) -- The National Guidance Council of the Pioneer Party of Indonesia and the Indonesia-Korea Association for Friendship and Cultural Exchange demanded the U.S. and the south Korean authorities stop at once Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercises for aggression.

In a statement on March 2 they said that the military drills are obviously a provocation threatening the sovereignty of the DPRK, adding the situation on the Korean Peninsula was put on the phase of tension again.

The statement expressed concern over the situation prevailing on the Korean Peninsula, recalling that the U.S. and the south Korean authorities' provocations spoiled the hard-won atmosphere of peace created thanks to the efforts of the DPRK and escalated such tension that a war may break out at any moment.

It strongly denounced their provocations and extended full support and solidarity to the DPRK's stand to protect the sovereignty of the country and ensure peace on the peninsula.
