Pyongyang, March 9 (KCNA) -- The families of Ok Song Gwan, Hong Yong Hak, Pak Myong Ok and Pong Un Ha, who are under the pressure to "defect" to south Korea, sent letters to them on Wednesday. The letters said that their husbands, younger brothers and sisters and daughters were so shocked to hear the unexpected news that they were put in custody in south Korea after going adrift in the sea due to the bad weather that they felt as if their hearts had stopped to beat and broken. The letters expressed their tedium of eagerly waiting for them to come back as early as possible, spending sleepless nights. In the letters they said that they could never believe what they called "defection" when they looked back in tears on the happy days when they grew up in happiness under the benevolent care, given an ample opportunity of learning. The families, relatives and all other people of the country are waiting for them with worries about them, the letters said, asking them not to yield to whatever temptation, appeasement, deception, threat and blackmail but fight staunchly to come back to the care of the DPRK. The DPRK side handed the letters to the south Korean side through the Red Cross liaison channel in Panmunjom on the same day so that it might convey them to the four persons. Copies of the letters were also sent to the president of Red Cross of south Korea. |
