The statement denounced the military provocations increasing the tension on the Korean Peninsula and demanded the U.S. and the south Korean authorities stop at once the joint military exercises.

The reality clearly shows why the south Korean authorities deliberately torpedoed the preliminary talks for opening the north-south high-level military talks, the statement said, and went on:

The reality also testifies to the fact that the U.S. is the arch criminal blocking the denuclearization of the peninsula while introducing nuclear attack means to south Korea and its vicinity under the pretence of the military exercises.

It is our belief that the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea is sure to be achieved.

The Working Citizens' Association of Democratic Congo also released a statement on Mar. 4 condemning the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet authorities for staging the joint military exercises.

The statement expressed expectation that all the governments and people of Asia and the rest of the world would extend positive support and solidarity to the Korean people in their efforts to defuse the danger of war and defend peace on the peninsula.
