Rodong Sinmun Saturday observes in a signed commentary in this regard:

The recent joint military exercises were dangerous war maneuvers against the DPRK unprecedented in history in the light of the armed forces and war hardware involved and their contents.

This being a hard reality, the U.S. and south Korean warmongers claimed that Key Resolve and Foal Eagle were "annual ones for defense" in a bid to mislead the public opinion at home and abroad. But this is nothing but sheer sophism intended to cover up their criminal ambition for invading the DPRK and their true colors as belligerent elements.

They were very dangerous plays with fire as they were aimed to mount a three-dimensional surprise attack on the DPRK with nukes and all other means under the simulated conditions of "contingency".

Nothing is more foolish than an attempt of the U.S. and the south Korean authorities to get something through military threat and pressure on the DPRK.

They would be well advised to stop at once their acts as reckless as jumping into fire with fagot on their back.
