Gathering Held in China to Mark Int'l Women's Day

| Beijing, March 10 (KCNA) -- Nearly 1,800 people gathered at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing Tuesday to celebrate the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day. Addressing the reception, Chen Zhili, vice-chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress, said during the past 100 years women worldwide have been fighting unremittingly for their liberalization, progress and development. Women have made tremendous contributions to the world's economic and social development, said Chen. |
