The statement scathingly condemned the military maneuvers, a main factor of escalating the tension on the Korean Peninsula.

The committee, reflecting the unanimous will of the world peace-loving people, urges the U.S. and south Korea to stop at once the military maneuvers straining the situation on the peninsula and increasing the danger of war in the region, it said.

The committee called on all the progressives supporting the cause of independent and peaceful reunification of Korea, the desire of the Korean people, to denounce the U.S.-south Korea joint military exercises and turn out in actions for putting an immediate end to them, concluded the statement.
