Samsong Temple Associated with History of Tangun
|
|
Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- The Samsong Temple is one of the tourist attractions in Mt. Kuwol on the west coast of Korea. The building had been burnt away by the Japanese imperialists as part of their effort to erase the history of Tangun, the ancestral father of the Korean nation, when they were occupying Korea. It was rebuilt in September Juche 89 (2000). It consists of a gable-roof gate and several buildings with the Samsong Shrine in the center. Samsong means three saints -- Tangun, his father Hwan Ung and his grandfather Hwan In. It served as a venue of annual memorial services for them. |
