In North Phyongan Province, large quantities of farming materials, including 18,700 tools, were sent to rural communities in January.

People of South Phyongan Province contributed hundreds of thousands of farming tools to co-op farms and collected tens of tons of idle materials for the farm implement factories and farm machine stations in the province.

South and North Hwanghae provinces have also rendered much assistance to farms.

Housewives in South Hamgyong Province produced hundreds of thousands of tons of manure and those in Haeju City and Thaethan County in South Hwanghae Province carried 20 000 tons of homemade compost to fields.
