Dialogue and War Cannot Go Together--Rodong Sinmun
|
|
Pyongyang, March 16 (KCNA) -- The south Korean authorities are talking about "dialogue" on the one hand and holding war exercises on the other hand, threatening the dialogue partner. Dialogue and war exercises cannot go together. Rodong Sinmun Wednesday says this in a bylined article. Dialogue is the best way of defusing the north-south confrontation and tension and peacefully solving the issue of reunification of the country, the article says, and goes on: The south Korean warmongers launched the adventurous joint military exercises with outside forces under the simulated conditions of a war against the DPRK. They signify a challenge to the efforts of the peace-loving DPRK for dialogue. They not only spoiled the atmosphere of dialogue and increased the danger of a new war on the Korean Peninsula but dashed the hope of Koreans at home and abroad for detente and peace on the peninsula and improved north-south relations. The south Korean authorities' war exercises will only reveal their scheme to stifle the DPRK by force of arms. If they truly want north-south dialogue and peace on the peninsula, they should not just pay lip-service to "dialogue" but stop at once the war exercises against the DPRK. |
