Pyongyang, March 16 (KCNA) -- The Pyongyang Floricultural Institute of the DPRK has succeeded in breeding perpetual chrysanthemum No. 1 through a gene transfer. The newly-bred plant is large in blossom, rapid in growth rate and easy to bloom before or after April 15. It is two or three times higher than original chrysanthemum in resistance to drought. It is also high in rate of rooting. The ornamental plant does not make pollen and vegetatively reproduces itself, giving no harmful effect on human body and environment. |
