The opera is based on a story that an army nurse carried out her mission under difficult conditions and remained faithful to the Workers' Party of Korea and President Kim Il Sung till the last moment of her life during the Fatherland Liberation War (1950-1953).

The opera is characterized by many famous stanzaed songs and popular and national features.

The theme song "Where Are You, Dear General?" is repeated several times in the opera in the way of vocal solo, chorus and orchestral music. The song is still enjoying a great popularity in the country.

The opera tells the audience that a member of the WPK can enjoy his or her honor and eternal life in remaining faithful to the Party and the leader.

The opera was created in Juche 60 (1971).
