Spring Herb Dishes

Pyongyang, March 18 (KCNA) -- Dishes prepared with shovel weed, bamboo sprout, wormwood, giant garlic and other herbs are popular among people in the spring season as they are good for health. Shovel weed soup helps prevent lethargy common in spring and promote digestion. It is also good for such diseases as dysentery, diarrhea and dropsy. Bamboo sprout dish is efficacious for arteriosclerosis, myocardial infraction, diabetes, hypertension and headache. Rice cake seasoned with fresh wormwood is one of the Korean people's favorite eats in spring as it takes a good effect on disease resulting from body chill and digestive trouble. Giant garlic salad stimulates appetite with sweet and hot taste and fragrant smell. The dish has a special virtue for insomnia, female disorder and avitaminosis. |
