Scandals Rife in S. Korea

Pyongyang, March 19 (KCNA) -- Scandals of south Korean diplomats have been recently disclosed one after another, sparking public furor. They reportedly led a corrupt life, having unsound sexual relations with local women. They pocketed public funds by falsifying the period of official visits, increasing the number of participants in dinners and faking up papers for the purchase of houses, cars, etc. Not content with this, they sold off even important secrets. After seizing power with all sorts of lies and gimmicks the present chief executive of south Korea worked hard with blood-shot eyes to lay his foundation throughout the society and establish a dictatorial system. As this adversely affected even the personnel affairs, many persons were able to hold important posts of power according to cronyism with the chief executive, irrespective of public opinion at home and abroad and professional qualifications. Choe Si Jung, who once contributed to the chief executive's win in the "presidential elections", took the post of the chairman of the Broadcasting and News Service Committee and Hyon Pyong Chol held the post of the chairman of the Human Right Committee, beating all other rivals. Hyon In Thaek, Won Se Hun, Kim Kwan Jin and other anti-DPRK confrontation maniacs forsaken by the people took important posts including the Ministry of Unification, the Intelligence Service and the Ministry of Defense. Kim Jong Gi was also appointed as consul general at a time when chiefs of the diplomatic and consular missions abroad were appointed for the first time after the formation of the "government". Those having the ties of fellow provincials with the chief executive organized a private organization called the Yongpho Society, backed by power. They distributed power among themselves, riding roughshod over personnel affairs. The public is stunned by this practice. |
