Kalsan Hot Spring

Pyongyang, March 21 (KCNA) -- The Kalsan Cure in Phangyo County, Kangwon Province, has been visited by many people for medical treatment. The cure has a hot spring well known from 500 years ago. The temperature of the spring is 46-47 degrees C, its pH is 8.4 and the quantity of water gushing out a day is 350 cubic meters. The spa water contains metasilicic acid, hydrogen sulfide, radon, bicarbonate, sulfuric acid, sodium and calcium ions. The alkaline water promotes the circulation of blood and metabolism and gives an anodyne effect. It is also good for chronic gastritis, obesity, neuralgia, trauma and aftereffect of operation. The Kalsan hot spring was registered as a national heritage in Juche 98 (2009). |
