Choummaly Saynasone, general secretary of the C.C., the LPRP, delivered a political report at the congress.

He referred to the successes gained in the past five years since the 8th Congress of the Party and set forth its new tasks.

The political report and a report on the modification of party rules were adopted at the congress. It set forth the goal for 2011-2015 economic and social development of Laos and tasks to be fulfilled by 2020.
