Anniversary of Kim Jong Il's Election as NDC Chairman Observed

| Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- The Russian newspaper Vremya Perementeve on March 16 carried a special write-up illustrated with a portrait of General Secretary Kim Jong Il on the occasion of the 18th anniversary of his election as chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission. In an article the paper said that his election provided a sure guarantee for the DPRK's demonstration of its might as an invincible military power. It went on to say: He has turned the Korean People's Army into an elite one. He led all the people to turn out as one in defending the country, tightly holding arms in their hands under so rigorous situation late in the last century. He has directed big efforts to developing the defence industry. He has made ceaseless journeys for inspection to KPA units, showing loving care for servicepersons as their real parents would do. The DPRK led by Kim Jong Il will always demonstrate its might as an invincible military power which no formidable enemy dare attack. |
