A joint statement was adopted at the seminar. It expressed the belief that all the Korean people in the north and the south and abroad would hold fast to the north-south joint declaration, banner of independent reunification and milestone of national prosperity, and the idea of "By our nation itself", its basic spirit. It also expressed the conviction that the Koreans would regard them as a lifeline of the movement for the country's reunification and thoroughly apply them to reality and thus brilliantly mark 2011 as a significant year in bringing about a new turn for independent reunification.

The statement hoped that the Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean people would conduct dynamic all-out offensive and make a breakthrough to realizing President Kim Il Sung's desire for building a prosperous and powerful country and commemorate the centenary of birth of the President as the greatest holiday of Kim Il Sung's nation and a great auspicious event in human history.

It expressed the belief that the WPK and the Korean people would surely win a victory in their general offensive for this year under the experienced and seasoned leadership of Kim Jong Il.

Attending the seminar were delegations and delegates of more than 100 ruling and progressive political parties and organizations of at least 40 countries including the DPRK, China and Cuba and members of the leadership of the Workers' Party of Mexico.
