Arpan, a newspaper of Nepal, said that the President, based on a bitter lesson drawn from the anti-Japanese national liberation movement, founded the Songun idea, keenly realizing that it would be possible to liberate Korea and advance the revolution only through the armed struggle.

Baluchistan Times, a newspaper of Pakistan, said that the army was founded in the DPRK ahead of the party and the state by the President's idea of attaching importance to the military affairs, the Songun idea. He is not only the founder of the Songun idea but the prominent leader who emerged ever-victorious through his Songun leadership in the whole period of his revolutionary activities, the paper added.

The chairman of the Korean Friendship Association headquartered in Spain said with appreciation that the President turned the DPRK into a socialist power--independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence.

Daily Monitor, an Ethiopian newspaper, noted that the DPRK has displayed its might as a power strong in politics and ideology and in military technique thanks to leader Kim Jong Il who developed in depth the Songun idea founded by the President and formulated the Songun politics as the basic political mode under socialism.
