Pyongyang, March 28 (KCNA) -- There are historic relics of academic significance in Rason City, the DPRK. Among them are primitive remains discovered on Cho Islet in Juche 38 (1949). Stone tools and earthenware pieces unearthed on the island are preserved at the Chongjin History Museum. Primitive remains, including drills made of bone and stone, discovered on Pipha Islet show that primitive men made fishing their life work. A signal-fire post on Al Islet was used to signal pirates' invasion in the period of the Ri Dynasty. Some parts of the post remain now. Josanjin Wall was built in March 1488. There is a monument to victory in Josan village about 12 kilometers away from the Tuman River. The monument conveys exploits of Ri Sun Sin, a famous patriotic general. Uam Beacon and Kongju Wall are also well preserved in the city as historic relics. |
