Struggle against Layoff Urged in S. Korea

Pyongyang, March 29 (KCNA) -- A rally was held in Seoul on March 25 by the All-People Committee for Getting Layoff Repealed and Honoring the Memory of Victims in south Korea, which groups more than 70 political parties and civic and religious organizations.

Speakers at the rally noted that suicide of workers, fired by businesses under the unreasonable layoff system, is on a steady increase.

They deplored that only layoff is waiting for the workers working hard to support their families.

They called for staging a struggle in unity to punish the present "government" driving the workers to death.

Meanwhile, the Committee has held a candle-light rally in Seoul every evening from March 8 in demand of the repeal of the anti-popular labor policy.
