S. Korean Authorities Accused of Persistently Talking about "Sincerity"

Pyongyang, March 29 (KCNA) -- The vice-minister of Unification of south Korea, addressing a recent "general meeting of the consultative council of businesses in Kaesong Industrial Zone", again cried out for what he called "change in the north's attitude." He said the inter-Korean relations can make progress only when the north "makes apology for exploding 'Cheonan' warship and makes assurances against the reoccurrence of the similar case." Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in a signed commentary observes in this regard: What he uttered is nothing but a far-fetched assertion of the provocateurs because it betrays the anti-reunification scenario to keep the door of inter-Korean dialogue indefinitely closed, while raising the insolvable issues as preconditions. The "Cheonan" case was, to all intents and purposes, a conspiratorial farce orchestrated by the south Korean warmongers in a bid to hamstring the DPRK's repeated efforts for dialogue and escalate the confrontation and thus do harm to it. They are blocking their oft-repeated dialogue by themselves while unreasonably insisting on the north's "change in its attitude" and "sincerity." They are rejecting dialogue while vociferating about "responsible steps" over the "Cheonan" case. This only goes to prove that they are not willing to have dialogue or improve relations with the north but are steeped only in the enmity toward it and intention to escalate confrontation with it. It is high time they stopped talking about "change in attitude" and "sincerity" for the sake of improved inter-Korean relations as this kind of wordplay is too tedious to hear and no longer workable. Explicitly speaking, it is the south Korean authorities who should change their attitude and make a switchover in their policy. They would be well advised to stop such foolish act as misleading public opinion and laying an obstacle in the way of dialogue and act with reason. |
