According to the DPRK law on the zone, materials imported for the processing trade are on the free list.

The free list also includes materials the foreign investors import for production, management and construction in the zone, export goods produced there and other countries' trade goods passing through the zone.

As for the dutiable goods, the zone applies lower tariffs to them than other countries' special economic zones.

Choe Kwang Nam, an official in charge of economic cooperation of the Rason City People's Committee, told KCNA that the zone provides favorable business conditions to foreign investors through the preferential tariff system.
