The authorities of south Korea and the U.S. are to discuss a plan on staging exercises for operation of extended deterrent by sponsoring the first full-dress session of the committee for policy on extended deterrence at the 28th meeting on security policy initiative, which will be held for two days, starting that day.

Recalling this fact, the organization said: The U.S. seeks to draw south Korea into its MD system in a bid to precipitate the crisis of nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula and thus trigger off a nuclear arms race and check conclusion of peace treaty.

In case the plan is carried into practice, it will result in south Korea's stronger dependence on the U.S. and huge financial burdens, to say nothing of outbreak of a nuclear war, it warned.

Strongly rejecting the committee dealing with this dangerous plan, the organization urged the authorities of south Korea and the U.S. to put an immediate halt to it.
