At the enlarged meeting held on April 7, Juche 50 (1961) the President opened a rosy prospect of developing fruit farming in a big way through an all-people movement for creating orchards.

Present there were Choe Yong Rim, Kim Ki Nam and members of the Cabinet, working people's organizations, the party and power and economic bodies in South Hamgyong Province and officials and workers in the field of fruit farming.

Prior to the meeting, the participants heard the recorded concluding speech "On Planting Orchards through an All-People Movement" made by the President at the enlarged meeting.

Choe Yong Rim, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C. C., the WPK and premier of the Cabinet, said in his report that the President's concluding speech fully reflecting his intention to build a socialist paradise on the land of socialist Korea has served as a banner encouraging the Korean people to wage a new heroic struggle and perform exploits.

After the meeting the President wisely led the drive to create orchards in a big way, the reporter said, and went on:

Under his energetic leadership a dynamic work was carried out to create orchards in all parts of the country following the example set by Pukchong County. As a result, orchards covering tens of thousands of hectares were created in 1961 and the area of orchards increased 1.5 times in 1963 as compared with that in 1960.

The noble plan and desire of the President to amply provide the people with fruits by developing the fruit farming onto a higher stage have become realities thanks to the energetic leadership of Kim Jong Il.

The reporter called on all the officials and other working people in the field of fruit farming to bring about a fresh revolutionary turn in the development of the fruit farming in hearty response to the militant appeal of the WPK for dynamically waging an all-out offensive, an all-out charge to translate the President's wish to build a rich and powerful country into reality.
