The premier took economic measures to speed up the work for putting the mining and carrying equipment on a larger and modern basis at the Musan Mining Complex, a nation's leading concentrated iron ore producer, and thus remarkably increase the production in the shortest period through massive ore cutting and dressing.

He discussed the matter for stepping up the pit construction and securing more cutting faces at the Soksong Coal Mine in keeping with the progress of the Hungnam gasification project going on at the final stage.

He also went round the Ryongjon Fruit Farm, which was turned into a modern one on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Pukchong Enlarged Meeting. He organized the work to solve the issues arising in putting the fruit production on a scientific, intensive and modern basis and radically expanding the area of orchard.
