Jia, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the Communist Party of China and chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, made the remarks during a meeting with members of the China Machinery Industry Federation.

He said that the federation would creditably perform its role, bring about innovation in its work system, accelerate mergers and acquisitions to forge conglomerates, and make a new and greater contribution to developing China into a machinery industry power.
