Academic Degrees and Titles Awarded

| Pyongyang, April 6 (KCNA) -- State academic degrees and titles were conferred on the intellectuals and officials in the DPRK with the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung as an occasion. Those winners have made scientific and technological achievements conducive to the prosperity of the country. A ceremony of awarding them took place at the Grand People's Study House on Wednesday. The title of academician was awarded to Thae Hyong Chol, president of the Academy of Social Sciences, and the title of candidate academician to Chon Un Ju, a teacher of Pyongyang University of Medicine under Kim Il Sung University, So Jae Yong, a researcher at University of National Economics, and Kim Ji Yong, dean of faculty of University of Science. Professorship went to Pak Chang Ha, a head of a department of Kim Il Sung Higher Party School, Pak Hak Chol, dean of faculty of Kim Il Sung University, and others. Doctorate was conferred on Sim Son Gun and Kim Ki Mok, heads of departments of Kim Chaek University of Technology, Choe Chol, director of University of National Economics, and others and associate professorship on 67 persons. |
