Taking part in the festival were 45 units selected from ministries and national institutions and provinces. It proceeded by way of display of local special dishes, famous dishes, popular foods and foreign dishes, presentation of achievements made in food science and technology and skill contests and demonstrations of cooks and waiters and waitresses and the like.

Presented to the festival were more than 1,300 peculiar national foods and various kinds of dishes and over 150 pieces of scientific and technological successes.

Conspicuous in the festival were the skill contest of cooks and the contest of waiters and waitresses showing experienced performance and service. The exhibition of scientific and technological achievements also drew many visitors every day.

Its closing ceremony took place on Wednesday.

Present there were Vice-Premier Kang Nung Su, Minister of Commerce Kim Pong Chol and others.
